What a fantastic interesting addition to Tom Bradley Terminal at LAX. Surely to be selling like crazy once it opens on December 4th! I wonder if guests will be allowed in? Every so often, a guest visits me. I meet them at Encounter during their layovers. Will non-airport guests be allowed into the Lounge? Looking forward to hearing more about this...

Congratulations.

I look forward to trying the lounge when I next travel; but am hoping that it won't just be another Starbucks-like environment with coffee drinkers staring at computer screens or newspapers.

I'm always hoping for a place that offers other forms of relaxation before or after a long plane trip. I'd love to see auto-massaging chairs, or real caring people offering neck/back/foot massages, or other kinds of gentle therapies to aid weary travelers.

Another nice thing would to have an area where people could actually lay down and stretch out if they need -- where one doesn't have to be on the filthy floor of a terminal or push airport furniture together for an uncomfortable substitute for a chaise.

Best of luck.

Congratulations on the fitst pay for use lounge at LAX! wishing you much success at this location and at the others as you expand. The concept is very unique in America and I am sure that travellers will appreciate it (especially those from Asia (who love being spoiledc/pampered)and business people headed overseas who need a quiet place to prepare for their trip)
There are a few very interesting comments left by your guests-massage chairs or actual people.
possibly showers and private areas for resting customers.
With the basic services provided and included in the fixed fee-it would be interesting to see if an enhanced version of the pass (all inclusive-liquor etc) would sell.
the view is fantastic! the layout of the room allows for quiet areas as well as areas where people can engage in conversations. i can imagine your lounge filled to capacity as customers await their flights.
two questions:
monitor-to show departure and gate times? I know announcements will be made-however monitors are informational and non verbal.
I am curious is there are plans in the future for a seperate smoking lounge?
Wishing you all the best with much success-looking forward to your expansion of seervices and locations!

Guests pay too John in answer to your question above. $25 entrance fee.
Got to be at LAX sooner each flight and now I have a place to go.
Thank you very much,

I'm sitting in here with very few others at the moment. I'm sure that once the lounge becomes better known this won't last long.
I'm convinced that the next time I'm passing through LAX that the lounge will be reaching capacity (although I must prefer I like having it to myself).
A place like this is badly needed, and deserves to succeed.
Thank you!

Where exactly is this mezzanine located? You need a map to show it's location. LAX is a big airport. Which airline is it closest to?

This lounge is wonderful. I travel cheap so I'm not used to any luxury. I was worried I would be wasting my money, but I have a 10 hour layover so figured I'd try it out. The design and tone of the area is relaxing, the chairs are comfortable and the snacks/drinks are quality. The internet access and view make this a total steal. The only thing that would make it perfect would be showers and a couple chaise lounges where you could nap. :]

PLEASE don't change a thing - I loved the classical music, the quiet mood, the layout AND the free (decent) coffee and snacks - hooray for the fresh fruit and not just sugary rubbish!
When I visited there was still no bar licence but not a huge factor for me. Staff were so polite and friendly, seats so comfy, views of the airport at night lovely and internet worked. I left a very happy bunny and am busy recommending it to all my traveller friends. Good job! Thanks.

Love the concept but wished it had a little bit more, such as some shower facilities & perhaps some warm food, buffet style but limited variety. For passengers who have a long flight, these above will make this area more attractive.

I'm sitting in the lounge as I type this... I'm a frequent government traveler and it's rare that I get to fly anything higher than coach. reLax Lounge is the way to go and worth the cost to be out of the hustle and bustle. I was able to get some work done, kick of my shoes and even nap a bit. Just the thing for a 12 hour layover prior to an 18 hour flight. My only recommendations include a designated smoking cubicle and certainly a place to wash up. Any chance this will become a chain?

Keep up the good work. I'll be back!

Thank you for a wonderful start to my Christmas vacation - we only had an hour to spend in the lounge, but it was immensely calming. Great snacks and drinks, super speedy Wi-Fi, and a wonderful view out over the airport - it was superb, and you can be absolutely sure I'll be back the next time I have a layover at LAX. Great job!

Excellent location here in Tom Bradley, seating arrangement is good, chairs are comfortable, plenty of electrical plug outlest (around the walls only), clean, quiet.

Good work environment.

Price is so inexpensive, when you consider the complimentary beverages, snacks, and internet service!!

This is a winner!!

we have just returned from a 3 week trip to Japan with a 10 hour lay over before our final destination. At first I was reluctant to come into the reLax lounge because of the price. It was probably the best investment I have made the entire trip. The quiet setting, the computer stations with internet, the complimentary drinks and snacks have been excellent. I agree that some lounge chairs for taking a nap or separate lounge restroom facilities would be ideal, but just the peace and quiet have made an unbearable uncomfortable hectic layover much better. thank you.

I was so surprised with this lounge - it was perfect. I had a long layover in LAX and was going to pay 50 dollars to use the American Airlines club, however with the relax lounge i didnt have to pass security and paid half the price for the 3 hours i needed - it was quieter, had better snacks and a better atmosphere. I will definitely recommend it to any friends traveling through LAX, it was worth every penny.

I SPENT 8 HOURS HERE cause I missed my flight the day before. That speaks for itself and overall it was good experience.

GOOD:
Clean, nice staff, PCs, drinks, nibbles. Away from the rush of the busy overcrowded terminal, reasonable value for money.

IMPROVEMENTS?:
Not quiet enough -- some more noise insulation for windows?
Reclining chairs -- free at some airports like Tokyo.
Showers -- would be nice but that's asking too much I reckon'? (I would have paid extra though if the option was there)....

No public showers at LAX what a joke.....anyway not your problem the lounge is good

Dear Melinda,

We do admit children as long as they are well controlled while in the lounge. Over 10 years old is never a problem, between 5 and 10 it’s up to the behavior of the kid. Good luck and I hope to see you at the lounge

Spent a few hours at the lounge, and ended up closing the place. It was so nice to have a quiet place with internet access with snacks and drinks. Well worth the price. Wish the lounge would consider extending hours for the later night flights to Asia (EVA Air and Cathay have flights that leave well past 1:00 AM but the lounge closes at midnight).

What a pleasant surprise. I thought you were a health spa for the weary, but this is even better! I'm currently in ReLAX lounge, enjoying the peace and quite and getting some work done for half a day while waiting for a flight to Melbourne, Australia.

It's a fantastic place. Thank you for putting it together and maintaining it well. The wifi connection is good, as is the free flow of drinks and pleasant environment.

Some suggestions:
1. don't bother with food. Just provide people the option to order directly from you the food that's available outside in the food court. Form an alliance with your neighbors
2. in the afternoon it got very hot, like a greenhouse. The window blinds are not thick enough to block light, so it gets uncomfortable in the seats near the window. Replace with 90-100% blackout blinds that can be rolled up/down.
3. Maybe leave some space towards the end for cubicles for people to sleep (even if you charge a bit more for that). We would have appreciated some actual rest on a horizontal surface. Or go one step further and offer those fully self-contained cubicles like those you find in Japan.

Keep up the good work and best regards.

Excellent addition to LAX airport and the Tom Bradley International terminal (TBIT). Located in the middle of
foodcourt area (on Mezzanine Level) above the centre of the Departure / Checkin Floor.

Great layout with comfortable seating, computers, snacks, soft drinks, tea & coffee, latest magazines and views of connecting runways.

You can visit for 1hour, 3hours etc or all day. Prices start at $10 for one hour. This is great value.

Public toilets are located just outside entrance. Showers are something for LAX airport to provide.

LAX has plenty of hotels in the immediate area. No shortage of hotel rooms if you need somewhere to sleep.

The airport information counter down in the arrivals hall can help with hotel details.

Most hotels have free regular shuttles from airport on arrivals level.

Please encourage more airlines to donate copies of the latest Inflight magazines.

Best Wishes

A fantastic lounge. Tomorrow will be my 5th visit to your well-appointed lounge. I enjoy sitting in your comfortable leather chairs watching the planes take off and land. I enjoy seeing the Airbus 380 taxi on by the lounge.

No other lounge that I can think of has this view and allows one to take photos of the planes.

I enjoy the snacks, beverages and alcoholic beverages offerings. It is so nice to be able to get a complimentary beverage with my PriorityPass membership. Please switch to Coke or Pepsi products if possible.

I will reccommend your lounge to anyone with a layover. The welcoming environment with free WiFi, plenty of plugs, relaxing music makes it all the more worthwhie arriving earlier.

This lounge is also a good meeting spot for travelers who need to conduct business, It is less expensive than going to an off-site confrence room and having to buy lots of food, The snacks at this lounge are enough to carry over until the next meal.

I am having a wonderful experience at the Relax Lounge in LAX. I have a 12-hour layover and I am relieved I can be here. I have all of my baggage in a cart and there's no place where I could have hung around until the next leg of my trip. Here, I am able to use the Internet, keep in touch with work, Skype, watch movies, listen to music, read the paper, read a book and take a nap. Thank you for the wonderful fresh fruit and water (there are plenty of other snacks as well). The staff are very helpful and kind. One even brought a blanket to me...

I have visited the lounge many times already, the lounge has a very nice atmosphere with a great view of planes. I like this lounge, especially the friendly staff who always try to keep the lounge clean and tidy.

But as a frequent flyer, I feel that reLAX lounge can definitely do better than right now. One improvement can be expanding the snacks or food selections. Full-fledge buffets in some airlines' lounges are nice, but they can be costly and I understand. But sandwiches, hot soup, salad, pancakes, bagles, chips, etc can be good additions to the current selections, as these food items can fill people better, and they are low-cost too. One time I visited the lounge early morning, and was quite disappointed to find out that there were only crackers which were not filling at all. A good lounge example to look at would be Alaska Airlines Board Room at Terminal 3. As a domestic lounge, Alaska is doing quite a good job with it in terms of food choices.

Wine choices can surely be done better too. I suggest doing the same thing as other lounges are doing, offering complimentary wines and charging the premium wines.

Also, staff should be alert to the noise levels of guests. There was one time a group of young men were gambling and playing cards in the lounge, making a lot of loud, disturbing noises. The staff should tell the guests to be quiet if they are making unreasonably loud noises. The lounge can also add a small area/room called "family room" for families with children. Continental Airlines Presidents Club of Terminal 6 has that, and it is a good idea.

Other guests' suggestions, such as automatic massage chairs, sleeping areas and showers can be good.

The lounge is a good one. It has the right people, location, atmosphere. All it needs are just some thoughtful improvements from the management to turn it into an excellent lounge. I also believe that people are willing to pay more for better services.

Speaking about my lounge visits, I have visited this lounge more than 10 times already. I recommend this lounge.

At first I was so nervous about what I would do all alone in this big airport! I happened upon the reLAX lounge, and I was so completely pleasantly surprised! The prices are affordable, the complimentary snacks and drinks are a great plus, and the complimentary computers are an even bigger plus! Especially because you can print for free (that is, unless you have more than 10 pages to print). I love it!

This looks great, and even though I am yet to come here (I am arriving in 3 weeks) here are some suggestions:

1. Mattresses or lie flat or recliner chairs: The best way to get through international travel is to lie down. Please implement this!

2. A cafe inside, with more options for food (maybe)?

3. At other major international airports! eg. reSYD, reORD, reJFK, reLHR, that kind of stuff =)

4. Hire-beds. Something like $10-$15 for 2 hours, (maybe more for the cost) for people that can sleep before the flight. Or, just a dark room with recliners.

Are there public phones? If not, thats number five. But the rest of the ideas is flawless, and seems too good to be true.

Spent time at the lounge in Jan 2009 a couple months after it opened while waiting for Thai flight. I totally enjoyed the quiet relative security of letting your guard down a little compared to the atmosphere just outside the doors in the food court. Thank you for this great lounge - I booked an all day pass and it was the best investment ever. The access to power outlets, free wifi, reading materials, drinks and snacks was perfect for a long wait for an evening departure. Only downside was the lack of a view caused by the construction - hopefully the view of the departing//arriving aircraft will return.

Relax lounge was my fall back position if thete were any delays to my British Airways flight from LAX. There was a three hour flight delay so I paid my money. It is interesting to note that whilst the lounge is still a comfortable place to spend a few hours, it no longer has an outlook because of the building of the Tom Bradley West terminal which is taking place just the other side if the lounge's drawn blinds. It was extremely noisey whilst I was there from work taking place. When TBW is finished I hope relax might be able to move there, but in the meantime, beware that during working hours the place suffers from building noise, and no longer has the sunny outlook depicted on its website
